If you are using Internet Explorer 7 then its the new feature called Tabbed Browsing. If you have more than one tab open, and if you try to close IE then you will be prompted with do you want to close all tabs message.

Otherwise if you are using Yahoo toolbar then its the same feature provided by Yahoo toolbar, Tabbed Browsing. This will ask you the same thing when you try to close the window.

I think whats happening is when you open IE you are by default getting two tabs... check out the tabs.. it should be right under the address bar...

the previous answer pretty much covers it other than delete them...If you are using IE7 (i did for a VERY SHORT TIME) i recommend you go back to IE6. Much less problems at this time... If u decide to do it just use SYSTEM RESTORE to go back to the time when u had IE6.
