"Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin." Romans 6:3-6.

According to the bible No! No more than you would keep Friday in honor of the crucifixion. Christ gave the ordinance of baptism in honor of His death, burial, and resurrection. The Bible never suggests Sundaykeeping in honor of the resurrection (or for any other reason, for that matter). We honor Christ by obeying Him (John 14:15)--not by substituting man-made requirements in place of His.

What do u think about this?

In the teaching of the churches Paul said do not forsake assembling together for the purpose of worshiping God, uplifting the name of Christ and fellowshiping with Christians of like faith. Whatever day you choose is your business. But God did say "Remember the SABBATH day to keep it holy" Whatever day you gather with other Christians to worship, just don't forget the true sabbath and obey God's commandment.

No, you're not keeping Sunday in honor of Christ at All...

It was actually not Sunday at all, as the name 'Sunday' was actually by the Phagans are to honor the god of the 'Sun'. While in the Holy-Bible, Moses thought us to keep the Sabbath and that is actually Saturday, how do i know, because in my country Saturday was 'Sabtu' wich came from the word 'Sabbath'.
That's why some Christian are still going to the church at Saturday.

While Jesus was actually raised in Sabbath.
And Jesus'es Dead and resurrection was honnored once in a year every April on Easter.

How it become Sunday not Saturday, well, it's because of the politic and stuff happening in Rome long2 time ago...

Hope this Help
Bless You

you are quite correct but let me add this, setting aside a day of worship has been part of the judeo-christian obligtion from the beginning. Sure we must be of a worshipful mind every day, yet also the bible speaks of us not forsakeing the assembling of ourself together. The jew uses the seventh day or sabboath which is saturday bevause it is the day God rested, The Christian uses the first day or Sunday because of the ressurection. Sure everyday is Gods day but there is nothing spritually wrong with having a set day for worship. It has a precedante that goes back to the garden of eden.

Ok?...Ponder on this one...First of all let's go back to the "Old Testament" when God created the universe and our earth. God created the universe in six days and kept the seventh day to "Honor Him". as the "Holy day". This was to signify what God had done for us in createing the universe and all His Glorious works. Now...there had been controversy over which day was the "Holy day". Catholics proclaim it to be Saturday. Christians say that it's "Sunday". So each of these beliefs have their own day to worship "God".
Now if you are talking about the Resurrection of our Beloved Jesus Christ then "yes" I believe that we should honor "Sunday" which we call "Easter" in remembering Our Lord who died for "our sins". Some of us honor Him on both days "Good Friday" as well as "Easter". But one should Honor Our Lord and God not just on Sunday's but everyday that one is alive and "thank them" for what "They" have done for us by creation or dying for Our Sins. You cannot Honor One without Honoring the other. God is the Father and Jesus His Son and both should be Honored together as One.Have a Blessed day!

setting one day aside every week for worshipping God is one of the Ten Commandments. It says the Sabbath, which is actually Saturday, but that Roman Emperor who converted (I think his name was Constantine???) decided that even though the SON was very important he didnt want to insult the SUN GOD, just in case, (he had doubts about converting obviously) and since the Ancient Romans worshipped the SUN GOD on a SUNDAY, they changed the day of worship for Christians, to Sunday.

I think you are 100% ON THE MONEY! The Sabbath of the Lord is the 7th day of the week...according to Old AND New Testament scriptures. Look at your calendars, people. That would be SATURDAY!

Shabbat Shalom!

I think you are absolutely correct. You don't have to be in that red brick building every Sunday for Salvation..But you are going to have some quote the old testament..and forget that where the Spirit of the Lord is there is LIBERTY.

Your question is ." What do we think of your spiel "?
I think you're trying to be a preacher. If anyone wants to read that stuff, he could read his own bible or go to church.
Yahoo answers is a poor place to preach. Give it up.

Paul taught to decide for yourselves whether a day was special and to not impose your view on others - whether they hold the same day special, another day or no day at all.

God created all days.

expensive Eric, you may keep in mind that Christ spoke in parables (Mark 4:33, 24). Please observe what's written in Matthew 28:one million, "in the tip of the sabbath, because all of it began to daybreak in the direction of the 1st day of the week, got here Mary Magdalene and the different Mary to work out the sepulchre." in case you will look on the origianl Greek with regards to this verse you will see that it is going to say, in the tip of the sabbaths, because all of it began to daybreak in the direction of the 1st of the sabbaths, got here Mary Magdalene and the different Mary to work out the sepulchre. in the KJV Bible the translators used a singlular observe (sabbath) as a replace of the plural observe (sabbaths) which the Greek demands. subsequently, whilst Christ arose it marked the tip of an era of sabbaths (the seventh day sabbaths) and commenced an era of latest sabbaths (1st day sabbaths). it extremely is how splendidly God wrote the Bible. In Genesis one million on the 1st day of the week (Sunday) God created gentle. The verse says, "And God mentioned, permit there be gentle: and there replaced into gentle."..the sunshine represents the Gospel of Jesus Christ. whilst Christ got here in the flesh, the international replaced into in darkness-the darkness of sin. Christ is the sunshine of the international and whilst somebody will become stored, they arrive into the impressive gentle of the international. Sunday is a remembrance of the day Christ rose from the lifeless and introduced the sunshine of the Gospel to a dismal and death international. Now study Isaiah fifty 8:13, 14 "If thou shrink back thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy exhilaration on my holy day; and make contact with the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, no longer doing thine very own procedures, nor finding thine very own exhilaration, nor talking thine very own words: Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and that i will reason thee to journey upon the intense places of the earth, and feed thee with the background of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it." it extremely is talking approximately Sunday no longer saturday. The 7h day sabbath the folk have been to do no paintings and afflict themselves. Sunday is the day we could consistently compliment the Lord and thank Him for thus great salvation. it extremely is an afternoon to sing hymns to God, to study His observe, and to deliver the Gospel out so others can hear the stable information.
