If you find a "cheap" teacup breeder, then you've probably found yourself one expensive dog. I know of 2 chis that are just over 2 pounds. Since the beginning of the year (that's this year 2007), they have spent thousands on the dog's health problems. One flew out to TN because the testing CA where she lives was going to run her over $8000! The other one has a father who is a vet so it helps but the dog is constantly sick since she has effective no immune system.
BE CAREFUL about getting such a tiny dog! Oh and BTW according to AKC standards, chihuahuas range in weight from 2-6 pounds with no such thing as a "teacup" variety. And a healthy 4-5 pound chihuahua is still pretty small. I know I have one.

Just so that everyone knows, there is no such thing as a teacup chihuahua. "teacup" chihuahuas are just bred from the runts of the litters of an already tiny dog. chihuahuas are unhealthy enough already because of inbreeding and poor breeding practises designed to make them look the way they do. Buying a teacup chihuahua is encouraging an industry that is cruel to animals. If you want a dog that small, get a hamster.
Very small dogs, however, are often runts. They are often unhealthy, or undernourished, or, if otherwise healthy, may suffer shortened life spans and health problems later in life due to extreme dwarfing. They are not normally suitable for breeding, and require special care.

you will detect a tea cup at a china keep. you will detect a chihuahua on the take care of. Oh! You meant tea cup chihuahua as in length? nicely, i'm particular you will detect a scrawny runt everywhere! Tea cup is a lower back backyard breeder's clever way of having rid of their runts, there is not any such factor as a tea cup chihuahua or the different breed!

The cheap ones usually have to advertise in the newspapers.
You may be able to find an ***inexpensive*** one from a reputable breeder if they have a return or didn't have enough buyers for their litter. SO don't bypass a good breeder.. just call them and let them know what you are after... - and that you can't afford to be *pickey*...
You may easily end up with a good one with a good pedigree for the same price as a ***CHEAP*** one.
Good Luck
http://www.akc.org is where you will find a list of breeders

look in CHEAPA$$BADBREEDEROFTEACUPCHI'S DAILY DIGEST. How bout just typing in Dogsthatdieofseverebadbreeding on google or Teacupsareruntyunderstandardchis maybe just try minaturesofalreadyminaturesare-goingtomeantroubleinafewyears.
OK seriously... look in papers, google teacup chihuahua breeders for the Wisconsin area, even calling around to regular chihuahua breeders you can find smaller than average puppies. One more thing, anything considered TEACUP will be overpriced. You are never going to find a cheap one, because the word Teacup is a designers way of selling a crappy bred dog for 800$. I doubt you will find anything for under 650$. Sorry if you couldn't tell, but anyone breeding miniatures of a miniature dog is not breeding a standard health conscious animal. Just be prepared to spend alot of money for a dog with little or no teeth, heart malformations, bone deformities, bone weakness, liver issues, Kidney failure at 3 years old, tumors, skin conditions, and oh yeah... Neurological (brain) disorders, and weakened urinary tracts or basically incontinent dogs.

Well, I don't know what your idea of cheap is for these dogs, but my sister-in-law has had a couple of very, very tiny chis from a breeder in Wisconsin. She has had a chi the size of a large hamster (ugly thing really) and also tiny yorkies. Their website is http://tinytykespuppies.com/ and they also sell puppies at 7-Mile Fair, on Hwy 94 between Racine and Milwaukee.

There is not much difference in size between a regular chihuahua and the undersized runts which unscrupulous people started calling "teacups" in order to sell inferior dogs at a higher price than quality dogs. "Teacups" are not only priced higher than a regular chihuahua, they are also more likely to have heath problems due to being under sized and will cost you more in vet bills. You are much better off getting a 4 or 5 pound chihuahua that will easily live for ten or so years than getting a 2 pound dog that might live for three or four years.

Teacup chi's are not a seperate breed-undersized dogs are used in a breeding program, And with a reputable breeder you will get what you pay for, A puppy who has had time and Money invested in it to make sure it grows to be the healthyest most well adjusted dog it can be!

Why would you want a "cheap" breeder? There is a reason dogs like that are sold cheaply- they are often breed strictly for profit, and have a host of health problems (often genetic). What you want is a responisble breeder who will be able to provide you with a healthy, happy pet. Go to the Chihuahua Club of America (http://www.chihuahuaclubofamerica.com/) and they will be able to direct you to a reputable breeder. (Also, most online pet sales are done via dog brokers, who buy their dogs from puppy mills.)
