just wondering

and i made one out of a telivision that i didn't want anymore and i can't get a full span of an image on the screen (although te only thing i have plugged it into are a mobile mp3 player and the phone line) will voltage or current depend on how big the image will be

and how do i span the image

The horizontal is normally controlled with a saw tooth generator . It needs to be linear starting low and increasing to a point it will very quickly return to zero.

If you really made an oscilloscope out of a TV, you are way beyond asking a question that elementary. What are you using for a horizontal sweep generator ?
