Yes. Your mother wears alot of hats in building relationships because she's an important figure in your life.

I'm not sure of your age, but let me assure you your mom can be your best friend. My mom always told me that if I ever wanted to know the truth I could come to her. She used to say, don't ask your friends how it looks on you, they don't care if you come off as less attractive, there can be a hidden agenda. I'm not in competition with you, I will tell how it looks truthfully because I love you and care how you look".

Like all teenage girls my mom and I had some bitter fights, this is normal as you become your own woman and break away from your mother's apron strings. After my first child was born I called my mother, started to cry and told her that everything she had been saying all those years were true and I apologized for being such a disrespectful daughter.

My mom is my best friend, as we grow older she remains the same and I become more like her. I'm proud of my mom and my dearest wish is that she be proud of me. Yes, your mom can be the best friend you'll ever have. I dread the day I walk this earth without her, because then the cord will have been cut for real and I will be alone.

Yes, once you are an adult and out on your own you and your mom should be friends. Until then her job is to teach you how to become an independent adult. A lot of times that means that being a mom is more important than being a friend.

Well, I think the natural love between a mother and a daughter is very stong. It is also taken for granted. I think some days your mom is your closest friend, and other days your mom is your arch enemy. But remember, your mom is a person AND a mom. If when she's looking out for you it's annoying, remember she's a mom. If she's angry at you yelling at her, remember she's a person. Though moms CAN be overprotective. Only sometimes.

You mom should always be your mom first and a friend second. But it is possible for mom's to be a friend to you. Just remember she is a parent first and foremost.

Definitely. I know as a teenager, I was a wild child and my mom and I didn't get along. Now as an adult, I appreciate her more and respect her more.

From my own experience, YES. For a mother to be a friend & be able to speak to her about any & everything, you know her love is unconditionable.

Certainly. But usually not until you move out of their house and live on your own. I wish I lived closer to my mother so we could see each other more often.
