like all people with intelligences and an understanding towards others would appraise your cause with the just and proper admiration that it deserves. unfortunately there are a certain small percentage of rejects from the dark ages, such as your emailer and that obscene gesture answerer (probably the same person by the way). these people need to take a good long look at themselves in the mirror and realise what a sad life they lead. if they don't mend their ways they could, very easily, end up leading very sad and lonely lifes as they get older. however this is not our problem. so after reporting them you should shoo them away like a fly and forget them. it's the weekend enjoy it.

good luck in the race

I am sorry to hear about your loss. I know that my father's death from cancer, now several years ago, still brings sadness to me.

Every person has to come to grip with death and any faith that does not deal with death is not complete. The respondent who indicated that cancer is God's child is simply limited in knowledge (and charity). As a matter of fact cancer is specifically not God's child. God created healthy fully functioning living things. Cancer is a defect in the natural processes in a cell that causes uncontrolled growth.

Does cancer come from "sin", perhaps, it does come from a defect in the natural world and defects have been attributed to sin. I don't think that is the point. We are visitors in this world and are destined to enter the next world one way or another.

God allows cancer to be one of those ways but it is likely that it is not a way he prefers. We have free will so many things we do are not according to God's plan. Perhaps cancer is a result of the chemicals we ingest or the lives we lead. It is not knowable. What we do know is that God would do and has done all that is possible to bring us to himself and that kind of compassion would never create such a disfiguring and painful means of getting there.

Please do not reply, as it could start off becoming a email war.
I think you should try and forget the sicko who sent the email,
which i know will be hard for you as it sounded a very cruel and evil email, (just like the person who wrote it).
You need to remember that for every sicko out there there are more than plenty of good, kind hearted people.
Good luck with the race, it is for a very good cause. My son's girlfriend runs it all the time.

I can understand why most people so far have answered not to respond to the person who sent you that offensive e-mail. But unfortunately we are living in a world where we so easily put our head in the sand when it comes to confrontation. And I am speaking to myself when I say this! I would challenge him on what he said, particularly if you have a belief system. I am a Christian and I do not agree with any of what he said, but if I had received the email, I would have to quote some scriptures from the Bible in order to make him think about what he wrote. Hopefully this helps you.

Well obviously cancer is an illness as we all know and sickness unfortunately is part of being in this world. No one is to blame for getting ill. There may be factors that contribute to people becoming ill. But the truth is you got mailed by a NUTTER who wanted to make you feel bad or was very young and didn't understand cause and effect of what they did. Please don't worry about it and DON'T let it spoil your enjoyment of posting questions.

Why on earth wasnt that answer removed. I dont understand people sometimes. You know that we not all like that here and you must focus on the good responses you had not the bad. do you remember who it was that sent that awful reply? if so send an e-mail and tell them to have a nice day and send them good thoughts. It may bring em down to size.
Have a good week-end and good luck in the race.x

You need to understand that you cannot take things you read on this site personally, some people just use the anonymity of the internet to express their bigotry, insensitivity and dare I say it stupidity. I regularly read a lot of racist stuff on this site and being black its kind of expected for me to be offended but I just see it for what it is, some idiot sitting at a computer saying stupid stuff. If you sieve out the crap on this site its actually pretty good and interesting, you get to see how different people have different opinions etc

I'm upset that some idiot would email you such a thing! Honestly, I'd probably reply to them with /deleted as your reply text. I'm sorry someone has to be so heartless when you are just posting about an issue that is close to you. Take comfort...I imagine most of us do care.
