and she took off two inches she said to get rid of split ends and to make it healthy and such. So how come now, maybe more than before, evertime I look down at my hair ends, I see split ends, many split multiple times and some split really high up? What's up?

Your hair was probably already split before the cut, but you only noticed the ends.
She probably noticed the damage, but didn't want to suggest cutting it as short as the spilts.
You need to try to do less to damage your hair. Shampoo every other day and avoid using hot tools. Apply leave-in conditioner after every shower or bath and try not to wear your hair in a ponytail.
In time, the split ends should clear up.

Your hair can and will split all the way up the shaft to the root if you don't take care of it.
Sounds like you use a straightening iron?
She took off what she did as the beginning of a process... You have to keep up with your conditioning and treatments to condition and smooth the shaft.
Not to mention proper hydration and supplements...

maybe you had more split ends than the hair dresser thought.

Maybe your hair was either extremely damaged or you just need to add ALOT of GOOD conditioner to your hair. I hope you hair gets healthier!
