Ten years ago I had some trouble sleeping so my parents admitted me to a psych ward. They immediatly put me on four different meds and told me I had bipolar disorder.

I couldn't function on the meds. I gained a hundred pounds and felt like a zombie. I lost my job and my girlfriend.

I felt that I was misdiagnosed.
I finally got off the meds and never felt better. I was med free for three years. I was working again..... until my parents found out I stopped taking the medication. They had me committed again against my will.
The psychiatrists there signed a court order forcing me to get injections of Lithium and Rispiridone. They force me to see a social worker and to go to Bipolar classes. They force me to see a psychiatrist every week.
It takes up all of my time and I lost my job again.
The psychiatrists wrote a letter to the DMV stating that I have Bipolar and I lost my drivers licence for life.

THIS SUCKS! Psychiatry has destroyed my life. I want it back.

The system and your parents it would seem. Consider moving to a different state. Driver's licenses are state specific and I would think so are state mental facilities. If you could find a new location to start over again you stand a good chance at a fresh start - and please don't tell your parents where you are until you are established, if at all.

Peace!

You should consult a lawyer and find out exactly what your rights are as a human being. You should also try to get a second opinion from another psychiatrist. I feel terrible that this has been your experience. I honestly don't know if anything could help. Your parents definitely have you by the scrotum sack. Good luck.

Are you for real? Lithium and Respiridone are not available as injections, you looser. Also the DMV can only take your license if you had a seizure. Nothing else.

Why not do something useful with your time? Get off the computer and stop making up stories.

You need a lawyer. If you are able to support yourself and prove to a judge that you were mis diagnosed, they will have to overturn the commitment. everyone is entitled to multiple opinions about their condition. Start with getting a lawer and a second opinion.

You might want to talk to a lawyer. You said you lost your job. (sorry about that), so if money is a problem, you could probably get a free consultation from one or more lawyers.Good luck.

Here's an idea --

Don't take the meds. Don't buy the bullshit. And don't let anyone tell you the state of your own mind.

And you should take legal action against your parents.

you have to use one psychiatrists assessment against another - its like going to court to win - selecting different jurors

look up ones that will give you a favourable assessment

or move to another province and you are free
