Is it possible? ("The Secret"...)?

Question

So, I have been thinking... about "The Secret". I wholeheartedly believe in this. So with positive thoughts, actions, and feelings, you can do anything. Well... what if someone started some sort of movement, like...

Let's see how many people we can get to utilize the law of attraction. Through national or even international broadcast, or through chain letters (I hate those, too), the internet, whatever -- "we" as the human race could actually do something fabulous! Eliminate hunger... poverty... global warming... goverment corruption... anything!!

The funny part is, you people who claim "there will always be fanatics who won't go for it".... ARE those fanatics who won't go for it. Never asked for sunshine or puupy dogs either... Hell, if you look a the question, I never said I thought it was possible. Hence it being a question. Anyway, I guess I got what i asked for, in that all of you think it's not possible, which is ok, but anyone out there without a black veil over thier eyes?

You really think you can eliminate global hunger by thinking positively about it? I like optimism and understand it's benefits as much as the next guy, but let's be realistic. Idealism only works so far, because there are ALWAYS going to be fanatcis who won't go for it. Offering hugs instead of security checks won't eliminate terrorism because the enemy will only exploit it. As for global warming, you are opening a different can of worms with the debate there. Do you think all the SUV's and cow excresence on Mars caused the global warming on that planet too? What I'm saying there is that there's debate as to whether we can do anything to combat it because there is debate as to whether or not we're the cause of it. This kind of idealistic thought is great. Woudln't it be wonderful??? In reality however, great ideas such as this are ALWAYS corrupted. Is it human nature? I suppose so. But it won't work. I mean, woudln't it be great if the world were just all rainbows and sunshine and puppy dogs? I don't think so really. Eliminating the bad will take the thrill out of the good.

Nice sentiment. However, there is not Law of Attraction - except in magnetism, which states that opposite poles attract. If we apply that law to this hypothesis, then it would mean that nice thoughts would cause bad things and bad thoughts would result in good things...

Really, The Secret is total and complete crap. Do you honestly beleieve that if you just THINK POSITIVELY that things will come your way? Dont get me wrong - there is a certain amount of truth in the idea - thinking positively, rather than negatively, can do the mind great good. However, positively thinking and hoping for money to land in your lap will never happen. Just like praying - God doesnt answer the prayer - YOU DO. The example given in the movie of the guy who sat around and thought and thought, then recalled having an unfinished book, which he finished, sold and made $100K is not the same principle - what his positive thinking did was caused him to get off his butt and motivated him to finish the book and sell it - he could have done that years before with a different type of motivation...

The only secret to The Secret is that it is complete BS. Its like a psychic who sells numbers to the lottery - why hasnt she hit the lottery yet? These people that promote it and are sucessful - they are sucessful because they have sold others this crap and are making money hand over fist as you pass along the message...

Making the splendid decision has muct to do with seeing our way previous any doubt, and reasons us to return into deep mediation related to the attempt of splendid questioning... so we are in a state of relax... and having the middle to project what all of us understand can get replaced... doing what's achieveable is barely challenged if somebody is disabled... wherein case we would could lend assisting palms.. In different circumstances we could all use a awaken call! purely God can do what's impossible.. yet we do could project ourselves to upward thrust and do all that we can! finally, until we are reaching that, this is achieveable, we maximum suitable lay aside the impossible for yet all over again and day... for, if we can't attend to the achieveable now, then God won't see us as being in superb condition to cope with the 'impossible!' Takes alot of perservance to realize the form of concepts and heart prepare to realize the prefer and skill to appreciate the thank you to do the impossible. good q' ((Asul))

anything is possible but it would mean that everyone would have to get involved. maybe if it was back in the 40s or 50s when people seemed to care more about everything. when teen pregnancy was strictly forbidden, and allot of the diseases that we have no don't exists then. and a time when we were not in every other country's business.

these days people are to selfish and matiarlistic and care more for them selves than what surrounds them..
i think its a great question and i wish that everyone cared enough to do something.
i mean you have veterans who are homeless, people who got shot at for years and people just walk by them like they are better then them and they are not....

I just started reading the book.
I find myself re-reading certain parts to fully comprehend and to re-train my thoughts. It is not a fast read book..........I like to think of it like a text book.

There have been a few times that things have happened for me by just thinking more positive..............so I do believe the concept.

As the book states.........our minds are always busy........sometimes in a bunch of chatter and chaos..........but if you can focus on things so that anxieties and negativity can be eliminated........I definitely have touched on that.

It's hard to explain and it can be hard to concentrate at times, but I now see and feel things differently than before.

Why dwell on negativity..............life is good........and one just needs to move in that positive direction.
