Mint could be a nice addition to the batter
I've never made any additions to my chocolate cake batter, but I have added to my frosting.
Mint extract, topped with shredded coconut, or chopped walnuts.

had a mocha once called "mexican mocha". It had chocolate and cinnamon. So maybe some instant espresso/coffee powder and cinnamon would be good. If you like choc with somethin try it! I love orange sticks covered in choc, it would probably be good in a cake! Bananas reminds me of those choc dipped frozen ones from the fair when I was a kid! Nut wouls be good and also make a nice garnish when it is all topped with the frosting! How about strawberries. Then top with halves berries dipped in choc? Good luck...

I would like mint in either the cake or icing. Coffee brings out the flavor of chocolate. Chocolate, mint, and coffee; my mouth is watering!

I would add a can of cherry pie filling, turning it into a "black forest cake". I have done this many times and my family loves it. You pour half of the cake batter into the bundt pan and then pour the cherry pie filling into the center, then pour the rest of the cake batter over that. Bake according to package directions. YUM!

One of my favorite things to do is add toffee pieces and chopped macadamia nuts. Bake .Cool. Cut up the cake in cubes varying from small to medium. Mix up pudding(2 boxes) add to cake gently folding it in. Then mix up 2-3 boxes of Nestle European Mousse put on top of cake mixture. And Dream whip to top it off. SO good I think I'll make some now!

I would use cold black coffee for the liquid and add cinnamon. Another time I would add chopped maraschino cherries and almond extract. You could make it a "poke and pour" turtle cake by poking holes in the finished cake, pouring caramel syrup over the cake, frosting with your favorite frosting and garnishing with pecans.

Lemon.....My nan (god bless her) who sadly passed away last year, used to make me the most moist beautiful Chocolate and Lemon cake. She used to squeeze the juice and grate the zest into the cake mix before putting it in the oven.....OMG...i can taste it now......Sadly I wont ever taste it again for real.
