My little sister has psoriasis so we bought a tanning bed and it almost completely clears up. It's better overall all the time but if she stops tanning it does still worsen. It gives the white spots (soft spots that were very dry but now are better but just white instead) pigment, the dry red spots heal almost completely too. The lotion you use it impotant as well becasue some have more moitureizers than other as well as it needs a bronzer in it to get rid of the white spots. Don't use one with a bronzer though on really dry spots becasue it will stick and make those spots have patchy dark spots. Someone wrote chlorine helps and he/she is absolutely right. Try adding small amounts of chlorine to your baths once a week. Talk to your doctor though. Good luck

I had a 13 year history of psoriasis, though I was in good health otherwise. But these severe large, thick and scaly excoriated plaques on my neck, ears, trunk and limbs ruined the way I was leading my life. I would be with red, inflamed itchy skin for most part of the year and these silvery scales would seem to be erupting without any reason. To make matters worse, blisters would appear over already red and itching skin. It was living hell.
I was treated with various options but nothing seemed to be working. Some of the treatments that I underwent in this depressing period of 13 years included tar preparation, tropical steroids and anthralin. I was also given light therapy many times but everything I tried would give me temporary relief.
And soon, after a few days I would be plagued with the situation again. In one of those moments when I was completely lost I stumbled upon this website just by chance. I read it and felt that as if someone had put the story my life on this web page. I was thoroughly convinced that if ANYONE can cure me of condition, it would be you.
And was I right, or what. I started recovering within 3 days of starting this treatment. Something that had become a painful part of me for 13 years was actually getting healed! My ears are healed and my neck is smooth again!. I am a month into the treatment and I have never felt better in my life!

As a former tanning salon owner, yes tanning helps psoriasis. I had several customers that tanned with me just for that reason. Tanning also relieves stress, arthritis pain, joint aches and back pain, as well as makes you look ten pounds slimmer. It also relieves "winter depression" by providing that extra vitamin C that we lack during cold weather. I advise tanning under controlled circumstances, seek help from an knowledgeable tanning salon, and not just a place to tan. A true informative tanning salon staff member can assist you on the the time limits, and the products, that will help you achieve relief from psoriasis and other ailments...

I've had psoriasis for 47 years...yes, the sun and tanning bed do help it...as well as swimming in the ocean in the salt water...and swimming in a chlorinated pool. Cold weather, stress, and believe it or not, excess weight, can make it flare.

Yeah it does. My brother in law has it and it worked wonders on his psoriasis. Natural sunlight is good too.

My ex has it and it said it helped him. And I have seen it clear up on him from tanning. it was worse in the winter and under stress. Someone also told us about a special tanning bed he could use that would clear it up. The bed was made specifically to clear it up. But, we never looked into it.
