Does your dog(s) have their own personal swimming pool? Just wondering because my oldest female Dobie does and loves it. Out of my four dogs she is the only one that loves them.

Anime, it is simply a child's pool that I bought at Walmart. She doesn't really swim in it, she'll either stand or lay down in it, or run in and out splashing around. She loves the water and it probably cools her off.I actually have an above ground pool and she did jump in it off the deck one day, but she can't be allowed to swim in it because her toe nails would put a hole in the liner.I wish I had an inground because I'd definately let her swim in it all the time.

I do put a few chlorine tablets in the dog's pool, have done it for years, keeps the water pretty clean and it has never harmed my dog. Just don't over do it!!!

My Goldens have a kiddy pool to lay in before we open the pool for the summer. After that they swim in the pool with us! We have an above ground pool (a big one) too and I taught my dogs not to go near the liner. They swim around and go right up the stairs!
Also you could get the toe nail caps made of plastic and put them on your dog just so he can swim in the pool with you.

My yellow labs LOVE the water! I take them out and they both swim in creeks and at the river, but I got them a kiddie pool and one of them doesnt do anything but run through it. The other dog though, she gets right in, jumping and splashing! The one we got is not deep, but she lays down in it on hot days (it gets 115 degrees here in summer!) and she even puts her head under water! Her favorite game to play in it is "fetch the rock." I'll throw a rock in and it will sink and she'll stick her head around in there and try to find it; its so cute! Every once in awhile, the miniature schnauzer we own (they are supposed to hate water) will go in there and play with her too! Awe it's just so adorable! And afterward, all the dogs are so happy and hyper they just run circles around the yard. That little pool was a great investment!

My golden retriever/yellow lab cross and jack russell love their swimming pool. Just a cheap hard plastic kids pool keeps them happy during the summer months. It's the only way to keep them out of the regular pool.

Using a kids pool makes cleaning easy as well. Just dump it out when it is dirty and refill it. It's a great way for your dogs to cool off without the extra chemicals used in a normal pool.

We always had dobies. Not all of them swam, but we had one dog that would go down the steps, and do about 4 or 5 small circular laps then get out. Funny thing is she would only do it in the winter when the water was about 48 degrees. In the summer when it was hot outside she was not interested.

Yeah--our dog is a pure bred Husky, and each year we get out a baby pool as well as a shaver to help her get comfortable in the Kansas heat of 110* sometimes.

Plus it's a way to keep her out of OUR pool!

I would love one for mine! i havent yet tho, for dogs that love water like my lab he would love it! lucky dog!
I would really like a Newfoundland but i read that u shouldnt swim with them cos they have natural life saving instincts and will try and pull u out of the water all the time!
Had to laugh at metalstefle's answer my yellow lab also sticks his head under the water and plays submarine! must be a lab thing.

Oddly, my boxers think they might melt if they go outdoors when it's raining, but they ADORE lakes, ponds, pools, puddles and buckets of water to play in. I think I might just buy a kiddie pool this summer and fill it up for them to play in.
