I've been doing cardio at least 3-4 x's a week and doing a little resistance training as well. I have 14 weeks left till the dreaded family beach vacation. I've been on a healthy diet plan as well. I just started this excercise/diet program at the end of Feb. I've just started loosing weight around my middle which is where it usualy comes off but I've never had thin or toned thighs. That goes for my arms too. It seems to run in my family but I'm determined to do anything I can to change this unfortunate family "heirloom".

It takes a lot more time to lose weight and flab than it does to put it on.

Keep up your cardio routine. Keep Increasing the resistance and time that you do it for. When exercising, focus on your problem areas (we all have them - I'm a guy, and keeping the 'love handles' and gut under control is a full time job). Look up exercise websites that will give you tips on hitting your target areas. If you use weights or machines, put less weight on - but do more repetitions. Add weight as necessary - and as you continue to build muscle, it actually will start burning fat - even when at rest.

The fact is - if you keep up the hard work, and eat reasonably well, you might not look like you want to look when you put on your swimsuit - but you'll look a lot better than you would have otherwise. (Plus always remember - you are your own worst critic). Hunt for a suit that doesn't accentuate your thighs - avoid suits that are intended to cover up or flatter your figure - most of them look horrible - instead stick to sportier style swimsuits which are usually cut a little fuller.

Fact from fiction, truth from diction. Once upon a time I found myself in a similar situation. I was fat. After getting tired or the "moos" when I passed by people and friends I went to lose it. But I did not know diet from shinola. Plus I knew it would not work. I was not about to give up pizza, cheese burgers and chocolate chip cookies. But I knew I could eat less of what I was eating and swap out healthier choices for some of the foods I was eating. Which is what I would tell you. Don't try to trick your body or your mind with dieats you know you can't stick with. Eat near what you have, but opt for healthier choices, multigrain bread for white, frozen yogurt for ice cream, or suger less ice cream. And look at donuts and cheese burgers as treats, not cheats. But keep them to sane and rational frequencies, maybe 1 to 3 times a week and go for smaller burgers. If you do not have access to free weights to do squats and such, when you go run errands if you have several to do in a given area, park in a central location and WALK. Go to the college or high school and run the stairs. Get a rope. While watching TV "jump a show". The 1st commersial break jump rope through it. And try to get through the WHOLE break no stopping. Second break, jump every other commercial. 3rd break jump all the commercials again. I would bet my donuts to your dollars you will start to see as good of results as you would get spending money on Jenny and you won't feel like you are on a diet because you will get to have that brownie.

Try a cleansing diet! I did and lost 11 pounds and 21 inches in only 9 days. I was very happy with the results and continued on the program and lost 29 pounds in 5 weeks. This is the fastest I have ever lost with other diets like Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, Medifast, Slimfast etc…. Cleansing works by removing impurities from your body. You get impurities from your food (pesticides, preservatives, food additives, colorings) water, chemicals, pollution, medications, alcohol, hormones that the animals you eat were fed etc….YUCK! The impurites get coated with fat and remain in your body. To remove the fat, you have to remove the impurites. This system worked for me, maybe it can work for you too. You can check out the website or call this toll free number 1-877-587-4647 for more info. The program is not cheap, but it is worth every penny since it works and keeps you motivated. Good luck! As you know you can't spot reduce fat. You can focus on toning the legs with biking, fast walking, inline skating, step-climbers, etc... But to lose the overall fat, you have to lower the whole body-fat content.
