One does not 'field strip' a Remington 870 like a semi-auto pistol or rifle, as it can be properly cleaned without disassembling it.
One can take an 870 apart for end-of-season detailed cleaning or maintenance, including inserting or removing a magazine plug, following the owner's instruction manual, but this is not properly referred to as 'field stripping'.

i don't be responsive to approximately IAC, yet you are able to investigate an 870's handbook off of Remington's website. The handbook that got here with my 870 exhibits each and all of the stairs in field stripping and cleansing.

I would never suggest striping a gun while out, loose somthing and your screwed so to speak.
Griz is right about the cleaning of it.
I would take it to bits perhaps once a year to give it a good servicing
