black stools are usually a result of bleeding in the intestinal tract, unless you drink alot of pepto bismol (it contains sulfa and that turns your stools black too), so, you aren't going to get rid of the black stools without some sort of assistance from the doctor. He will need to test your stools to see how much blood there is, usually alot to change the color, and try to determine how old the blood is to determine where in the tract the bleeding might be occuring. He will likely want to do several diagnostic tests, including blood tests to check for anemia, and perhaps colonoscopy, and endoscopy. Get it checked out soon, that kind of bleeding often signals either a serious ulcer or even cancer.

You can sit here and listen to silly quesses and advise and there is no way in God's name I can offer any suggestions to you in Clear concious due to What I went through in my past. I would suggest if they are putting your appointment off when you call- tell them you have to see the Doctor and now, you are having Chest Pains- It works- sometimes we have to take crazy measures for them to take us seriously. I'm a Nurse and I know the app.secretarys will put you off sometimes if you don't stress the Importance, they will make guesses on their own and put you off if they feel it's not important-unprofessional yes-but I've seen it done too many times. Where I've Worked Not all Appt Sec's. But some.Just Get to The doctor and Quick- I only answered because of my past and When I seen Black Stool. I've been there and lived this kind of stuff so take it from someone who has suffered alot in my life. Good Luck and I pray It Is Nothing At All and It very well could be. But Take it Seriously!!

Black stools could be something not serious like eating too many foods that are dark, vitamins or prescriptions. It could also be serious such as internal bleeding from an ulcer, inflammation, gastritis, cancer and others.

The question isn't an easy one to answer and it's best to get some tests done to ensure it's not serious and find out what is causing it.

Here is a good video about black stools.

Well, in some cases it can be produced by certain medications ( iron salts, bismuth salts ). If that is the case, stop taking the medication.
Other than that, do not defecate until you see the doctor ( which you should do ASAP )
