(Lakota / Dakota tribes [Sioux]) The pictograph for the SPIRIT is a circle with a dot. The sign language for the "Great Mystery" is MEDECINE and GREAT together. I would like to know whether there is a specific pictograph for "The Great Mystery".

I think the answer to your question is yes. Cannot say for sure. Tribal beliefs vary per tribe, that is why there are different symbols and different words.

To respond to user Tom above. The land bridge theory is just that, A THEORY. There is actually more evidence to disprove the theory than there is to prove it. The evidence this user is citing is extremely controversial. The website he provides is also very controversial. For more information please read "Red Earth White Lies".

As far as my understanding goes, yes, it's just by different wordage.

If you want to get technical...in their own language I've seen "Sioux" (D/N/Lakota) use Wakan Tanka and Tunkasila... Still learning so don't quote me on it, though I think the first is more in reference to a 'great mystery' (or more specifically two words...Above and Great) and the second is similar to the word for 'grandfather'...

Words and symbols probably vary a lot for all Nations/tribes.

I think they are very close to the truth about God. They believe in a paradise earth. They believe in being kind to the animals. That this earth was a gift from God and should be treated that way. That God should be thanked for abundance of food. that the heavens are for the spirit persons and the earth is for mankind.

It may depend on what tribe you're talking about. Native American are made up of various tribes each with their own distinct beliefs.
