We're meeting this friend of my cousins family aand she's Chinese. She's had a baby girl recently. What gifts should I get her? What gifts should I stay away from? I know that the Chinese don't give clocks as gifts cuz they signify death.

Baby clothes or any type of gift set would make an excellent gift for a Chinese baby. I recently bought a cute gift set for a baby shower from www.dazzleconcepts.com. They have free shipping too!

Chinese babies are real babies. Get them things like blankets and little baby bath sets and the same things you would get for any new baby.
(Who gives a baby a clock?)

It's still a baby regardless of nationality! Baby stuff would suffice. Another hint: red is a good color which symbolizes luck and happiness.

Give them a red envelope, called Lycee. (spelling??) Perhaps put 25 dollars if you are an acquaintance,
50 dollars if you are good friend.
