I thought HOTPASS was doing a pretty decent job on picking drivers for Sundays race. The only problem I have is this.. The fact that were on our 4th race of the season and Jeff Gordon has YET to be carried on the programming (not counting end of Daytona when Johnson wrecked).. Ok, Don't get me wrong. He doesn't have to be on HOTPASS EVERY WEEKEND. But Crap! There are Gordon fans out there... Alot more then DIRECT-TV recognizes I think. I mean look @ Jr.. He will be on hotpass this weekend for the 3rd time this season. Lets not mention the races where they covered SADLER @ the back all day, JARRETT @ the back all day... I understand they need to carry one of these back-of-the-field drivers but this HOTPASS is new this year!! First time it's ever been available. Why not put the most-winning driving in NASCAR currently on there?! It's ludacris. And for all you Gordon Bashers that answer this. Leave your jealous bullcrap @ home. Better yet, Post it! I need a good laugh today boys....

I don't know how the drivers for Hotpass are selected, so I really don't have an opinion. It is odd, however, that Gordon hasn't been chosen yet. There are many strange things that have been happening in NASCAR since Nextel has taken over. I really don't know what they are thinking.

I think Gordon is one of 3 drivers not doing the HOTPASS deal that has a great chance to win the race. The other 2 are Carl Edwards and Jeff Burton. However, I think the winner will be 1 of the 5 HOTPASS drivers featured at Atlanta. The drivers they selected this week are Jimmie Johnson, Tony Stewart, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Mark Martin and Greg Biffle. I don't think that any of these guys will give viewers a look at the back of the field until they start lapping them.

You have a very good point. About the only reason I would get HotPass is for the fact that I could see the whole race, even during the commercials (in the small box on the side).

Even if they had the drivers I wanted, drivers / crew chiefs are saying so much less on the radio these days (and having to watch their language so carefully) that it's not nearly as much fun to listen in as it used to be. They don't want to give away any strategy to the competitors over the radio either.

Mostly, you just hear the spotter going "green, green, green" and "inside, inside" or "outside, outside" for 3 hours. Or in the case of anyone near Robby Gordon, "get out of the way! psycho on the track!". ;-)

I agree Jeff should be put on more as he is second in points (really first since Martin says he won't run the full schedule) and has been competitive in every race. Like him or not, he should be included instead of hearing Jr. and Kasey Kahne every week.

Best wishes,

Nathan

I am not sure how they make their selections.. the main reason that I did not sign up for it. I feel like if they could guarantee that some of the drivers were going to be on and when, then they would have a lot more success with this venture.

rubbin is racin!
