Being pagan and Christian are not mutually exclusive things: in other words, some folks are both X-ian and P-gan.
Some Christians believe is God, but not all Christians. Unitarian and Gnostic Christians have non-deisitic formations of God, aong their variety of beliefs.
Some pagans believe in God, some do not. Broadly speakng, many organized religions, including Hinduism, are forms of paganism. Most pagan systems permit multiple gods, others are atheistic, animistic, pantheistic or monotheistic.
It's useful to not accept the false dichotomy invented by Christians, Jews and Muslims, which draws a big dividing line between true believers and infidel 'pagans.'
Being a pagan is a matter of perspective. Christian practice is filled with older 'pagan' ideas and forms. the Christian Trinity is directly derived from the French Celtic Triad of Deities, which dominated Gaul for centuries.
Earlier forms of Christianity, not yet exposed to pagan/Celtic Europe, were not Trinitarian, but instead were esoteric or unitarian, etc.

Well, technically I'm not Pagan - but I get tossed into this group a lot. Don't mind really.
I know that God exists because I know God. Actually have a personal relationship with Her*. She works every day in my life - and I am surrounded with Her love. I am filled with grace, Her strength becomes my own and I have limitless hope. Doesn't mean bad things don't happen - I am chronically ill and facing the possibility of cancer and my husband's lungs are slowly failing. I just have the strength from Her to keep going.
*I don't believe that God has a gender. I use the female pronoun just to show the difference between my beleif in God and what Christians believe. And 'it' seems a little too impersonal.

Nobody knows there is a god. People feel there is a god, think there is a god, suppose there is a god or suspect there is a god. Alternatively they may feel, think, suppose or suspect there isn't a god. It is even possible that they might create a god.
They do not 'know' something simply because they 'feel' it. If that was true then I would 'know' that drinking 5 bottles of NyQuil a day would be good for me, simply because it feels good. (not that I do)

Because you can feel the spirit of the Creator in all things. Most pagan believe in God, and that God has many names besides the one that Christians subscribe too.

If I chose to believe in a jar of Garden Chunky Prego and worship it as a God, Who cares! You are you to judge. It's all about the feeling.
