Yes, but it depends on where you are. I would need to know that to recommend a place. Some universities that have medical schools have dermatology students that can work with you on pricing, and they have the latest equipment. I would recommend a place that offers discounted packages (most hair removal is 6-8 sessions. if you pay up front, sometime they will only charge you for 3 or 4). The type of equipment that works really well is called the LightSheer laser. Look for that.

Go to this forum: hairtell.com and hairfacts.com
It depends on where you live, what skin type & hair color/type you have as different lasers work better/worse for certain hair types and skin types.
If your hair is blond lasers hair removal will not work for you.
Laser hair removal is best for people with skin types I & II (light) and dark, coarse hair.

I personally have been going to American Laser Centers for the past year- doing my legs and bikini and I've had significant hair reduction (which is what laser does---it REDUCES the amount of hair you have).

Electrolysis and laser hair removal are “permanent” hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged.

A dermotogist is the first place to check. If they do not offer the service, they can direct you to someone reputable and licensed.

You can go to http://www.HairRemovalForum.com and http://www.SignatureForum.com or call 888.517.4187. They have a substantial list of nationwide providers and the second site offers ratings based on previous customers experiences.

Good Luck.
