I vote on the not changing for all the good reasons people above stated.

Enjoy your wedding day in your wedding dress.

Girl- there is no need to do any changing unless you're going to your honeymoon right after the reception. You only get to wear your wedding dress once and its only a one day thing. You should enjoy and if you feel a little uncomfortable, most of the time it be because of the damn shoes, so get some nice little ballerina shoes that matches your dress and just make sure the dress covers them, if your shoes bother you change them but leave your dress on, because no matter how a female looks on a regular basis, on their wedding day, they always look beautiful no matter what. Girl on your wedding day is gonna be "all eyes on you" everyone focuses on the bride than anyone else. Also you're going to be taking photos, you'll want every shot with your dress on. You wont see yourself in the album with a wedding dress on. Enjoy your wedding, good luck and remember- keep the dress on.

I would say between the end of the wedding, and before the start of your reception. If you're driving over to the reception hall, change in the car, hopefully you've got a limo. If you're have the wedding and reception at the same location, simply excuse yourself to a private room and change.

Although I agree with one of the earlier answers, you're spending all that money on a gown that you will wear once, why change out of it? Find one that's beautiful AND comfortable, and if you're worried about stains, spray it down with Scotch-Guard. I know it's the new "in" thing to do, but to me, it's just one more way for a bride to make herself feel more special than everyone else. And maybe I'm wrong, but isn't the point of a wedding to celebrate the union of two souls, and to celebrate the presumably fantastic life you have ahead of you with your loved one? If you feel the need to change clothes mid-wedding, you may want to reinspect your relationship.....

I think it would be best to wait till after dinner, after the first dance and after the cake. Because your going to want pictures of all of these things in your wedding gown. You paid enough for it so best to wear it as much as possible. Than you can get changed into your other dress for the rest of the night.
Congrats

People used to do this as a "sending away" if they were leaving for their honeymoon directly from the reception. It was traditionally done just before they left, they'd go change then come back for one last dance and so everybody could say goodbye, then leave. If you are not leaving right from your reception, there is no need to change UNLESS YOU WANT TO. In which case, you would change just before you leave.

As I told my father, when he asked when we were going to leave to change....for the amount I'm paying for my dress, you'll be lucky to see me in anything else for the rest of my life! I'm not changing!

Oh, don't change! You only get one day to wear the beautiful dress! But if you are, you would do it towards the end of the dance.

no offense but why do brides want to change into different dresses for their weddings? When I found my wedding gown, first of all it was not cheap and second of all you only get to wear it once. I loved my wedding gown and did not want to take it off. I think you should keep to one gown. People might think you are upity and your wedding gown is not good enough for you...thats what they make bustles for.

If you change before the reception your first dance will not be in your gown. I changed before I left my reception. I did not want photos of me in something casuel.

it's your wedding, do whatever you're most comfortable
with keeping in mind photo ops at dinner -- course you
could do a table dance while changing during dinner ;-)
