Yes, that's a point. If I went to live in the US, how would I convert my UK licence to an American one? I'm supposing I would have to take some sort of driving test.

If you are a tourist, your license is good up to a year I think. If you become a resident you'd have to contact the DMV in the state where you reside and find out.

You can use your UK licence with no problem, but if you move to the US you have to take both the theory and practical driving test. However, depending on which state your moving to German or French driving licences (it might be worth swapping your UK licence for one of them) can be converted by just sitting the theory test (you can take the book in with you in Utah, so only a complete fool would fail a multichoice question when you've got the answer book in front of you).

Its valid but only for a certain number of days, if ur planning on moving here u have to convert

I'm fairly certain it is valid, but only for a short time, especially if you move here.
