I asked this because:-

A - there is no god/devine being, there is no proof - don't say the bible! If there was a god he would not let all this **** happening in our world today and in the past. - and don't say Free will!
B - Religion segregate people eg Northern Ireland - Catholic and Protestant. Israel and Palestine - muslim and jews.
C - Religion hold back technological advances ie - dark ages.
D - Religion seems to breed evil acts (look at B)
E - Terrorist are using religion to justify their acts, this pisses me off. Blowing up people on planes and trains.

I know you all think I am a atheist and hate all religion but I don't. I am just one of those people who want to stand up and ask the question most people want to ask. I don't believe in blind faith ie you just believe in god because someone told you to or you are born in a family where you have been raised to believe in a faith. If I was to believe in something then I like to believe in the good of humanity.

No need to justify a need for God when I have direct personal experience of God's presence. I know God exists.

A. There is not proof that God does not exist. so this question is a matter of which side of that argument you hold to. God has a plan--we don't know that plan. God sat down rules--disobey the rules--God is very harsh. God does not cause the pain; choice decides the pain.Free-will is part of God's plan, if you don't accept this that does not mean it doesn't exist.

B. People take their religion seriously. There are countries where what you believe is the most important part of Life. Do you blame God for that? Satan is at work, and in many cases he uses religion further his unrighteous.

c.dah... I was not around in the dark ages. Pagan beliefs were around also(non-religious) Beliefs have changed to allow science to develop. And many things in Science has changed to conform to the belief of scriptures. Check it out!

D. There is more evil in the world that is not religiously oriented. Check your statistics.

E Terrorism has and will exist as long as man exist. How is it God's fault? It is convenient to blame God. If you reject
God you have a right to do so. This is America. Are you saying science has the only correct answers? Then, which science has all the answers. God is...prove differently

Humans have always had a need to know the reason behind things and whenever there was something they couldnt explain they attributed it to a god(s). That's why all major religions were started over 1500 years back before there were any scientific facts to explain the sun, the moon, nature etc. But the tragedy is that there are people who are still content to believe in these fairytales just because they can't accept the fact that this life is all we have and that that when we die we just rot away in the ground. I dont mind religion but when it interferes with the progress of human civilisation or when it leads to wars and problems then it becomes a burden

Reasons b - e could argue against belief in such a thing as humanity, not just God. (by the way, there were many technological advances in the Middle Ages. What historians call the Dark Ages were desolate because of the destruction caused by the Vandals and Visigoths)
argument A is unclear. Are you saying that because there is no proof for God therefore God does not exist? Lots of things can exist without proof - anything that scientists have predicted and looked for existed before they had the proof.

From my perspective the very possibility of an intellectual understanding of the universe compels me to the existence of God. I have also a certain experience in understanding my inner movements and I believe that the more I see what is psychologically produced in me, the more I can see what is not psychologically produced, but induced by direct action.

I suspect this isn't proof according to your question, but I believe it is within the realm of reasonability.

All I can say is sorry . Your life must be really lonely. Your right you shouldn't believe in God because someone tells you too or because that's the way you've been taught. I believe in God because I know he exists, there are things in my life particularly things that I have prayed for and given specific detail to that he has answered the just the way I asked him to. As to things going on now days this is called the end times, this was way planted out way before any of us were even born. You can deny it all you want but the only ticket out of hell is Jesus he died so that you would not have to go thru the horrible torment that is still yet to come. If you think that this bad wait until Satan has his full rule of the earth things are going to be so bad you'll want to die except it will be to late because you will already have a life sentence to hell. I would pick God and a life of paradise any day incomparison to the hell to come.

I don't think anyone justifies the need. I think everyone knows there is one and that by denying that need creates a bitter angry resentful individual.

As for (A) yes, there is no proof. That would make "faith" unnecessary, the very thing God requires to have a relationship with him.

And let me ask you this, at what degree of badness would you control someone's behavior so that we all could live in peace? Not letting someone do something bad would create a perfect existance, but wouldn't allow for any choice in any situation. Isn't that exactly what the terrorists are doing? Trying to control how we behave in the world as a world power.

As for (B) thru (E) That is humans taking advantage of religion for their own agendas, and that is the ture meaning of taking the Lord's name in vain. They will be judged HARSHLY for the acts they have commited to further their own.

I think you are a very corageous person and don't want to go thru life without really believing in what you say. You are a person of integrity and do what you say you believe. And yes there are those that aren't committed to that end as you are. But judging them for their lack is not what leaders do. They encourage people to act. I see leadership potential in you. But there is alot of unresolved bitterness and anger in your life that you will need to deal with before you can get there. Please search your heart for the real reasons that you have these feelings and you will find yourself rising above the crowd.

MAn views the world from what he see's in his heart.
There is nothing wrong with questioning.

A- There hasn't been a proof for you........but for many as for myself, I have proof. No body will ever be capable of changing my mind. I have proof. You will be sorry if you don't believe. IN order to understand, speak or converse with someone who speaks spanish, you yourself must understand that language. You need to know the spiritual language........you need to become spiritual.

B - Segratations exists for a good reason. Criminals go to jail, people with similar interest stick together.....etc

C - People chose to stay in dark ages. They interpret the bible in such a way. Im in no dark age.......i see doctors, i seek advancements.

D - People breed evil acts.

E - Terrorist are "using" religion to justify their acts - USING is the right word. REligion is not the blame. Its a scapegoat and dont worry God will judge them.

I believe in the only true God which is Jesus Christ our Lord. From my OWN personal experiences I do believe, I do not judge your own beliefs if you are an atheists or not, only God knows you true heart. With all things people make choices right or wrong for we have all sinned, but one who is Christ Jesus the son of God.We can not understand no matter how hard we try why things happen in this world we live in,for God is in complete control and I as a follower put my trust in Him and Him alone.
