what's "Marking tag"?

hello i'm a foreigner, could you tell me what "marking tag" is in English? my customer asked me for it.

It is a label which you attach to something, in order to identify it or classify it. You will have seen countless marking tags ins shops, showing the prices of goods together with (in many cases) a description in words of what they are.

Marking Tag huh I can speak German I know what it means but I'll do my best its means:You have to mark something like
to mark homework or so.
