How often do you and your husband go out? How often do you go out on your own and how often does your husband go out on his own?

We go out together without kids maybe once a month, if we're lucky. He goes out alone at least once a week with no kids. And I go out once a month for a girls night. But while they are at school, I am without them 2 days a week (because I babysit my nephew 3 days a week).
The only people that watch the kids too is my family. So it all depends on their schedule.

Both my children are full time at school now, yippee!!! this gives me a lot more scope to get out and about on my own (mostly to work, shame) We try and go out together once a month, it depends on invites, sometimes it's more sometimes less, at least once every two months with no one else, just us. I go out a couple of times a week in the evenings to the gym, or for a drink with a friend, my husband goes less often but when he's gone it's for at least 12hours! It's a bit of a give and take thing, the key is not to be jealous if your partner has gone out without you three times in a month because the next month it will be your turn. Its also important to get some time "just the two of you" if finding babysitters is difficult try getting really dressed up, turning the lights low, adding music a bottle of wine and cook a nice meal together.

Lately, it's only been about once a month or so that we get out together, though we're thinking about making it twice a month b/c our youngest is 18 months now and can stay w/ my mom for a few hours. I get out on my own probably every month too, but my husband gets out on his own a little more often.

We generally prefer to do things as a family. When we have babies less than a year old, we NEVER leave them behind. If we're invited to "no children allowed" events during that time, we don't go (or at least I won't go).

I wish our culture was more truly family friendly.

Not very often, she's with me constantly. The only time we go out without our daughter is when it's time to do a big shop(once a month), she gets grumpy in the trolley or maybe we'll go out for a meal once every 2-3 weeks. The other half works away from Sun til Tues and then goes to watch Chelsea play football whenever they're at home so he gets more "play" time than me.

Depends on how old your children are.If they are in their teens you and your husband could go out quite often on your own. Our family arrangement is we each go out once a week on our own and a couple of times together. We all go out as a family at least once a week. With younger children obviously it would depend on the availability of baby sitters etc. but I can't see why you and your husband shouldn't each have an evening out once a week with the other looking after the children

It was so long ago I cannot remember, a few years probably. We have a 5 year old and a new born baby. My 5 year old goes to my sisters every few weeks for a sleepover and when she did this and before the baby was born we stayed indoors for the eve watching TV.

Reading the replies I see how coupoles go out alot more than we do.

My man goes out at least once a week with his mates, I go out once a month but see them during the day as well with kids.

Seems like an imbalance in out nights out but thats another story.

No family nearby to babysit (apart from my sister) and dont like asking friends unless its a real emergency

My husband and I haven't been out together, by ourselves, in almost 2 years. Each of us has had a night out by ourselves with our friends. Not the same though. We don't have a babysitter and really don't trust anyone to watch our kids. Our parents are old and not good health. So, that option is out. So, if we want to do something, it usually involves the kids also. I guess my husband goes out about once every 2-3 months and the same with me. We are homebodies and are trying to save for a bigger house. But, I do miss having a night out on the town with the hubby.

well we just had our second child- she's 5 weeks old- and we have yet to get out alone since her birth. However our oldest is 6 (almost 7) and usually on the weekend she would get invited to stay at her great grandparents or my moms house- so she usually was gone at least one night during the weekend- so before the new baby we actually were lucky enough to get out once a week. Dont kow how it's going to work out now. Im sure MUCH less- because its easier for relatives to keep 1 child- vs a 2 and 1 thats a new baby.. plus im breastfeeding and she wont take a bottle yet... *sigh* i wish i could say it's more- i need a night out =(

lol, my husband and I go out alone maybe once every three months. I go out alone, well....lol. just two weeks ago I went out with and old friend alone for the first time in 3 years... It was great. Luckly we have grandma which takes the kids 2 weekends a month so we get away but usually just stay at home and attempt to relax a bit....My husband gets out alone every day. He goes on bike rides after work so that's his time alone...hope this helps

We always go out with the kids when we go together. I haven't gone out on my own since I had my first, 2 years ago. Where ever I go, they go, except when I used to work (before 2nd baby). My husband goes out about once a month, or so.
