How can you tell if your relationship is over?

2007-03-16 03:49:32 · 20 answers · asked by nc 3 in Family & Relationships Singles & Dating

im 26 and been in my relationship for almost 3 years. My relationship should have been over months ago, as my partner cheated on me with his ex, but stupid me forgave him. He's been good as gold since, but I sometimes feel that he doesn't want me, that I think he sometimes wishes he was with her. I am his complete opposite and he always says that he wished I had blonde hair (his ex has) etc, i feel inadequate, but know that I am beautiful too. sometimes he's loveydovey, other times he pushes me away. mixed signals.

Oh, This is a tough one because it depends on your specific situation. First of all, 3 main reasons to leave anyone for good are ... 1. Abuse 2. Addiction 3. Adulterty. If you are married, I would wait for one of the abobe 3 to know if it is over or not... simply "not likeing eachother" is not good enough for divorce... you will always have times you dont like your spouse. However; if you are not married, you don't have to wait for the extreme to be "over". If you can Honestly look at the person and say "no, i can not see spending the rest of my life with this person" then you should end it and save yourselves the grief and time invested.
That is how you know for sure.
However, if you are just growing apart...

Not enough information to answer that question. Are you in junior high school with a first love of your life. Or twenty three with four children at home or 55 and muddling through midlife crisis. We need more information to answer you with any degree of empathy and understanding.

Its already over.
NEVER FORGIVE A CHEATER. if they truly care about your feelings then they wouldnt put them in jeopardy.
ONCE A CHEAT.....ALWAYS A CHEAT....that saying is so true cheaters-cheat and liars-lie those are 2 moral issues that their parents dropped the ball on and are now a part of that persons morale thermometer. MORALES ARE CLOSE TO IMPOSSIBLE TO CHANGE.

If the person doesn't touch you or want to be touch by you, or doesn't give you direct eye contact. Also, check his/her body language, do they feet point out way from you or at you?
The bottom line, you know when is over... but sometimes love is blind and makes us stupid, and we try not to think that is over, that you can win her/him back.

If there is no more love, respect, happiness in the relationship i think it's safe to say that it is over.

If you think you'd be better off with someone else or alone then your relationship is over. If you can't trust him or you just don't think it's working anymore then it is most likely over.

best of luck to you!

you guys might feel like there's no more of that excitement when you see each other and you sometimes feel board and can't think of a way to spice things up anymore because you feel like what's the point.
but if you do want to spice it up a bit then you still have feelings for that person.

you will feel it in your gut, which is called instinct or intuition and things will not be the same or feel the same when the two of you are together or talking on the phone and all.
there's more signs but i'm sure you'll get more answers..
There are sooo many men out there.

Simply by asking the question.......you already know the answer, you don't want it to be true, but you already know the answer, and you are looking for reassurance. Trust your gut impulse......the little voice in your head making you ask this question.....that's your conscience......listen to it, it is there for a reason, and has your best interest in mind.

When you feel in your heart that you don't love someone, don't like them and prefer not to be in their company.
As to how to tell when someone feels that way about you, either they stay away, don't answer your phone calls or make excuses when you ask for their time.
Simple as that.
