I have heard of people having sinus infections for a year or more... this sounds like you are having an allegic response... I think you have some sort of allergy that is causing you to have chronic sinus irratation... exactly why your doctor perscribed "Flonase"... I dont know.. I think I would suggest.. seeing an Allergist.. and getting tested for what is triggering the response... that way you can get rid of the underlying issue... maybe get a CT of your sinuses done also just to rule out.. any other issue.. but sounds like an Allergy to me..---PS allergies dont mean its nothing.. or nothing wrong.. and sinus issues are horrible.. you feel like crap all the time.. pain pressure.. running nose or clogged.. they are truely awful... this can be treated... if your not getting any relief from the "Flonase" there are many other things you can do... ...

Yes, you can have a sinus infection for a month or more without it getting bad enough to warrant taking antibiotics. When the infection gets into your ears, you do need to be put on antibiotics. I can relate to what you're going through, since I was diagnosed with sinusitis many years ago, after having chicken pox while in high school. (allergies can lay dormant in ones body, until a shock to the system, can trigger allergies, such as what happened to me after having chickenpox) I was on Flonase & it worked very little, so I discontinued using them, besides, I don't like using nasal sprays, as they only push the bacteria back up into your sinuses. I get the best breathing results from using the little Vick's inhaler that you can buy in the grocery store or department store. It opens up my nasal passages really well. I carry it with me all the time. I don't have high blood pressure, so I have found that Sudafed Sinus (pinkish tablest) works best for me. I get greater results with it, especially when it comes to those painful headaches. One thing I have noticed & that is when there's a big drop in barometric pressure, my headaches get worse. Perhaps you should see an ears, nose, & throat specialist. Tell, not ask, your family doctor, to refer you to a good one. If she doesn't like it, oh, well. I hope you get some relief real soon.
