Roxio Easy Media Creator 9. You need two DVD drives.

Although you have a right to make archival backups of any software you own (on Floppy or CD), the right does not necessarily extend to your DVDs, as they are protected under the DMCA.

That being said, there are some programs that I have used to copy my DVDs (I assume you mean movies): CloneDVD, DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink.

If you Google those names, you will find the programs.

Please bear in mind that

1.DVDs produced by Disney, Sony, and Lionsgate are very very very very difficult to back up.
2.You are in a gray area by backing up DVD movies.
3. You may need a Dual-Layer (9G) also called DL DVD Burner to do a proper back up. You would then need to get DVDClone2 and AnyDVD.

What programs did you buy?

You'll find that many original DVDs are copyright protected so you won't be able to copy them without a decrypter. I use DVDDecrypter which is completely legal to download and use and is also free, and as others have said DVD shrink to compress the files before using either Nero or Roxio to burn to disc. If you do a search in Google for Scubapete you'll get various links for free downloads of these to pieces of software and a step by step noddy guide on how to use them, hope this helps. Happy Burning!

get ur money back, buy Nero...

it doesnt work because???? r u trying to copy a Movie DVD??? in which case you cannot do a straight copy, you have to decrypt it (another topic), and it wont fit on a regular DVD, must be a dual layer or you must shrink the Movie DVD, see??

if its a regular data DVD that is 4.7G, and you have a DVD burner ROM, then it should be a no brainer...

pay for nothing.
if your just going to do tis one time then just google anydvd. thats the program that breaks the copyright and google dvdshrink and thats the program that actually does the coping. or insted of dvd shrink just in the smae site for anydvd they have a program called clone dvd. i like them the only set back is that the anydvd and clone dvd are only trial. you can purchase if you want and they are very user friendly. the any dvd is just a background program and the clone dvd is very user frindly.
