I am trying to become a cop, well after i go to College but mind as well train now. So for the past few months i run for 2 miles every weekday.
And yet my endurance hasnt even improved, if it has it was really little improvement which i hardly dont notice. I do have slight ashtma but i have a puffer which i use and still the same.

On the Police running test i have to run 1.5 miles in under 15 minutes, yet that takes me 20-25 minutes mostly because i gotta walk a few times for about 3 minutes to catch my breath.

So can anyone tell me why isnt my endurance improving? What am i doing wrong? What do i need to do right? Do i gotta eat different food (i eat alot of pizza and junk food)? Is there any kind of drug or something which can be bought at a store/pharmacy that i can take to help me improve endurance?

You need to learn how to brethe while you are running. You want to get an even pace going and control that breathing. It's kind of like a march, nice and even. Believe me your stamina will build up to where it needs to be and you will make it. If you are still unsure you can contact a health or fitness gym and ask one of the professionals there. Also when you go running you need to make sure that you do the right stretches and eat plenty of protein which helps reduce muscle damage. Foods that are high in carbohydrates also allow you to have more energy and eat some sodium rich foods to replace what is lost through sweat and to help with hydration. And always drink plenty of water so you can sweat, that is how your body cools itself off.

It might have something to do with your ashtma. Have you talked to your doctor to see if it's safe for you to run? Changing to a healthier diet would also help as would staying hydrated with lots of water. Stretching is good for a number of reasons and might help you recover better from your workouts as well as make you feel better in general. I wouldn't take anything that claims to help you with endurance from the pharmacy before I spoke with my doctor to make sure its safe. A lot of the stuff from the pharmacy contains stimulants that my help with short term performance but will ultimately make you less healthy. They can also be dangerous it you have high blood pressure or heart problems.

Doing the same workout everyday will actually not help you with your endurance. You need to change it up a bit. Do a slower endurance run one day, and then the next day maybe run a shorter distance at a much quicker pace. You will be amazed at how much this will help you. Good luck!

try running more often (this is essential) try running on a sidewalk along some telephone poles or fence posts. Sprint to the next post, then jog to the next, sprint to the next, jog to the next, etc. This way you build up your endurance (or slow twitch muscles) and your Fast twitch muscles. Try doing this about 20 minutes a day and of course eating junk food won't help. I wish you luck!

Asthma limits endurance. Try drinking green tea more often, does wonders! Also, try this: wheat germ oil (one tablespoon)before you work out. It will hyperoxygenate your lungs and bloodstream, so you dont run out of breath so quickly! (old runner's trick!)

FYI: Dairy products make asthma worse via more mucus in the body, so get off them!!

Also, meditation helps the mind as well as the cardio/pulmonary system. Give it a try!!!

As a parent of a child with asthma I would first check with your doctor to see if your asthma may have some aggravation due to exercise. Also I would definitely change your diet some.

You're not pushing yourself enough. You know when you get to the point when you feel like your heart is about to explode? Keep jogging slowly. Keep that heartrate up. And lose weight. It will help.
