I am 17 and in 12th grade. My sister is 14 and in 9th grade. We have the same rules and priveledges. It is always this way. I am never allowed to do anything that she is allowed to do. Whatever I am allowed to do, she is also. I am an honor roll student and she is a C student. I never rebel and she always do. My parents say that I am a very respectful and quiet person and that she is a mouthy and nasty person. So why can't I have more priveledges that her.

Your parents evidently do not want to deal with the issues before them when it comes to your sister. They give her the same privileges as you so she won't throw a fit basically. It is totally unfair treatment, exspecially given the differences in your ages and maturity level between y'all. I have two teenage daughters that are 15 and 14. They are only a year apart and they still do not have the same privileges. Your parents need to get a handle on your sister and her attitude. You should have more privileges than she does. Unfortunately there probably is nothing that can be said to your parents that is going to change this fact. But there is one factor for you to take into consideration, your almost 18, you can move out soon and not have to worry about these problems anymore.

becuase your parents don't know how to manage you two differently and enforce different rules. They've probably been doing this for a long time or they weren't and decided it was too much work to enforce two different standards. there should be a difference considering you're a senior and she is a freshman and your parents are blindly ignorant or lazy to see the difference. If you're in the 12th grade you don't have much longer until you graduate. Get the h e l l out of there and make yourself happy. If they want to s c r e w over your sister by not getting a hold of her attitude and behavior, then so be it, don't concern yourself with it. The reality is, parents aren't cracked up to what they're supposed to be a lot of the time.

They are probably afraid of showing you preferential treatment but this doesn't sound right to me either.
