Nikon D 70....
Nikon is better and most but not all professional photographers use the. Next in line is Canon...

By the way, Sony makes the Minolta camera...

As a former Minolta 35mm film shooter, I'd say go with Nikon (or Canon). Both Nikon and Canon offer much broader selections of lenses and accessories. Minolta is no longer making cameras, but Sony bought their DSLR business.

Hi audaniabomar,

Why are you even considering those two cameras? Are you buying them second hand?

If you are then I would probably base my decision on the condition of the cameras being offered.

Right now there are much better options on the market than those two cameras that can be purchased for a very reasonable price.

Before you commit to any of those cameras take a look at what Canon's 350D (Rebel XT) has to offer. You can buy it new for about $500 and it performs beautifully.
