No. As far as I know a simple cold does not actually increase the pressure inside the head by very much at all, it just might make your head feel that way.

not that i know of, but in extreme cases, and usually caused by something else besides a cold, your sinuses can rupture, even though it would be tremendously painfull, it would not be as graphic as an explosion. .. .
