in italy it is important to look nice. dont look like a typical american tourist with a fanny pack, camera around your neck, and a "who farted tshirt." notice the locals in italy dress-up even the kids wear designer clothing like DandG, gucci... youll even see women ridding motorcycles in stilettos.

Also when at a restaurant, dont expect polite waiters like we have in america. Dont stutter or hesitate when ordering. Order like a command, be direct and loud. if you dont the waiter will just walk away.
