I did for a little while, when I 1st moved out to Long Island,NY. This individual was a member of the "Code Enforcement Unit". These officers do not carry weapons and are only supposed to issue parking violations.

This 1 individual, I later found out had been pyschologically disqualified from becoming a police officer, and so began using the theory that "the pen is mightier than the sword" to conduct his enforcement actions.

For awhile, I was in his cross-hairs because he issued me a summons for an expired inspection sticker (yes the sticker was expired), but his description of the location was facially insufficient. When I pointed this out in Traffic Court, the summons was dismissed and that's when everything started.

I started getting summonses for obscure violations, "wheels not cut to curb", "overnight parking adjacent to park road", "defective equipment", parking more than 12" from the curb" and a few others.

Needless to say I contested each and every single summons and they were thrown out and then I engaged in a campaign to get this individual fired. He ultimately was, but it was a painful 6-months (took up a lot of my time).

I did, showed him a good time :)....Seven years later now, we're engaged and having fun! It took a while to get him outta robocop mode, not to mention he was/is a Marine too, but some things are good because I feel safe and he has taught me about being more aware of my surroundings. It's also fun to see guys trying to size him up, of course they all walk away with their tails between their legs.

Basically, it's all a front. You have to remember cops need to keep up a certain presence, they deal with all sorts of nasty people out on the streets and can't let their guard down for a sec. I respect it and have no worries since I'm not doing anything wrong.
