My dad 60 has just been daignosed with this cancer. He had the tumor removed on Monday and will start chemo and raidiation in about 3-4 weeks. He has to go to in-patient rehab, he has lost use of his right leg, and lacks balance and depth perception. He also has adult on-set diabetes which he has managed for 2 years by himself with diet and lifestyle changes. They say he will inevitebly die soon from this cancer and that he will not have pain many other people face when dealing with other cancers. My question is do you think that he, the doctors, or anyone will know when he is close to death or will he just all the sudden die at home without warning? He had siezures with this tumor those are under control now with meds. but I suppose they could come back with the regrowth of this tumor? I am concerned for my mom and my young brother (17).

He will probably lapse into coma some time before death, but this is not absolutely certain.

I agree with Doc8. He will probably sleep more and longer periods until he lapses into a coma. When in a coma, the end will be near (probably a few days at most). Watch for labored breathing near the end.
