He really sounds like he needs someones help. I believe any child can learn to change their behavior but they need to be taught what is appropriate and what is not. Obviously if his parents are alcoholics they are not going to teach him much! It's so sad that this boy and so many other children out there don't get the love, attention and so on...that they need. Someone needs to stand up for this child and help him. Maybe call Children's Services anonymously and talk to them, it might help. Good luck!

Sounds like CPS needs to step in and give the parents a wake up call. By the age he is now.. this is called a learned behavior and most likely from the parents. He needs to have counselling on a daily basis and hour a day to help him through the difficult times he is having. With this they can pinpoint the issue and solve the problem. But by what you are saying the parents need to be there for him and not doing so. I am surprised the school has not called the Child Protective Services by now.. he should not be in 1st grade again. This is another reason for him being such a bully.. he is bigger than the rest of the children. This needs attention for a professional and since you are aware of the problem.. maybe you can step in and help the child by calling CPS, otherwise he may never have a chance. Good luck.

I really hate to say this considering how I feel about government involvement, but if you are genuinely concerned call your state Child Protective Agency.
The child may have other problems such as Alcohol Fetal Disorder or Bi-Polar. In any case this baby needs help and from the sounds of it he needs help NOW!

well the fact that his parents are alcoholics, sums it all out.. of course he wants attention and not only that, but children do copy their parents either sub conciously or conciously... if the parents are violent to each other then maybe that is why he is violent or if they just fight alot, can affect a child really badly. yes there is hope for him if he is put in the right care and brought up properly.. children are like mirrors.. cause they reflect wat their parents are. I feel so sorry for that little boy :(

There's always hope, but just not very much hope in some cases -- like this one. Sad, really, as the child is so innocent. The parents should be held to account.

Perhaps he needs to be tested for fetal alcohol syndrome. The damage done during gestation can last a lifetime.

There is always hope for a child and it starts with the parents. You can't control any child, you have to teach and set good examples.

As long as the parents are alcoholics, I'd say things are going to get worse.
