Unless you want to hold your breath and turn blue thereby teaching them a lesson.

You could just act in a mature and responsible manner and let them catch on overtime.
Anyone that feels the need to make the statement...."I am just as much as an adult as they are" probably isn't.

Arguments about maturity are NEVER indulged in by mature people.

To be fair just do what responsible people do. Take care of your spouse, take care of your home and pay your bills, do your work and enjoy your relationship. What other people think is the least of your worries.

Let it roll off your back, unfortunately you can't change most of these peoples opinions. I was married and the mother of two when I was your age, alot of people thought it was necessary to ask me how old I was and didn't I realize what a task I had being so young and taking care of kids. To me these people just needed someone else to focus on so they didn't have to focus on their own problems

Definitely let it go. Sadly, you may encounter immature behavior for a long time to come, try not to acknowledge it. Rise above it with the dignity you know you possess, let others' words fall after they're spoken.
Eleanor Roosevelt said, "do what you know to be right in your heart, you're going to be criticized anyway."
Your conduct will speak louder than any verbal defense, and you never know who's observing the scene.

Let it roll off your back. There is always going to be someone who is going to treat you like a child. Let me guess.....it's some members of your family?

Tell them to grow up and face facts, you're a 20 year old married woman, not some child.

The best thing you can do is make good choices. When people see that you're mature enough to think things through, they will recognize that as a sign of maturity. Just remember, actions speak louder than words.
