it depends. 20 mins in a tanning bed is equivalent to a day in the sun normally. each tanning bed and bulb is different. they have uva and uvb rays, the more uva rays the ''better'' it is for you. uvb rays are the burning rays which is what causes skin cancer. All in all its better to stay out of the sun period. who wants to look like they have leather skin when they are older? not me.

no a tanning bed does not microwave you. I think it is worse because it can do in minutes what the sun does in hours. the tanning bed probably causes more cancer because people don't realize the damage they're doing in one. it's not one or the other, it's the behavior of the people.

I think the tanning bed is worse, they tan you from the inside out. Sorta like a microwave. The sun tans your outside first.
