Why do some Christian believe that Atheist think they have all the answers?

I really don't understand it when people say 'atheists think they know everything and that's why...' you can fill in the blank. I am not remotely intimidated by an Atheists perspective. So they have an interest in science, they've thought out why they don't accept the existence of god and they express this. I don't think I've ever met an Atheist who believes they know everything. None of us does.
And before the 'your an atheist' screaming begins, I practice Buddhism. I am very interested in your thoughts.

I don't know everything by a long shot. But I have my beliefs...just like everyone else. The one thing I know for sure is...you are a bright spot here. (smile)

I'm sorry but you've confused me. I am Catholic and I've never thought atheists know it all. They maybe well educated in many areas. It in God that they know nothing because they have no faith. I think the comment you are referring to was being said sarcastically. I don't think any Christian is intimidated by any atheist. Some have been raised in Christianity and while in their teens or twenties decided that God is a fairy tale for whatever reason. Some have studied many religions and decided that all are false. That's their right. But now I'm realizing that maybe God has hardened their hearts for a reason. God hardened Pharoahs heart during the last of the 10 plaques. So maybe after a while, when a person is searching for God and He gives them tons of signs and they still refuse to believe, maybe God decided to hardened their hearts to the truth. God has a plan for all of us and a reason for it. I get stronger in my faith when I talk with atheists. So maybe the purpose for some non-believers is to help believers learn more about God and become closer to Him. Just my own personal thought.

But your question makes no sense because I don't know any Christian that thinks that atheists think they have all the answers. It's just said in sarcasm.

I think whoever claims to know everything has a major screw loose. Because NO ONE does. I'm an atheist, and I agree with you. I do not like when people begin a question with 'For you atheists that think you know everything...". It's really annoying. Because we don't. We have theories that suggest the big bang and evolution, and evidence too, but it is not rock solid. It is sturdier an argument than God, but it is not rock solid.
No one knows it all.

Well, actually I congradulate the athiests for being closer to Muslims. Point being, in order to be a Muslim, you have to believe in the Ashad, which is laa illa ha illa Allah Muhammad Rasoolilah, which means I recognize and accept that there is no diety except Allah, and Muhammad peace be upon him is the last and final messenger. The athiests believe that there is no diety, so they accept the first part of our ashad, so all they have to do is figure out the rest. They probably do not believe in God because they think that God is a human like Jesus. This is wrong, God Is Allah, the creator of the world, no matter what happens he is there. Let me post the first Surah of the holy Quran, which is called Surat al Fatiha.

They say it here all the time! That's why they became atheists, they LEARNED reality! The NO the BIBLE is fiction book and God doesn't exist. THEY KNOW IT for a fact.

They know when you die you just die. You become nothing.

have you ever heard an athiest and a religous person debate? for anything that a religous person says that would mean thier is a god the athiest replys with a scientific answer or something like that. so because they HAVE an answer they are looked at like "they know it all" while religous people don't have answers they have faith

Its not that they THINK they have all the answers...They are always being insulted by other religions. They just want facts.

Some fact were proven and they are then call Devil worshipers. "Lies lies" by all believers...when you CAN NOT prove them wrong.
After a while you just want to rebel.

So leave them alone all believers..If you are a true Godly person you would respect them and not be a bully
