Do you mean a white spot in the center of the bowtie?

I've seen a few dobermans with a dab of white on their chest. It is an undesirable trait but acceptable if it is no bigger than 1/2" sq.

Addition:
When a breeder registers a litter, there is nothing on the application asking if any of the pups have this marking, just if both parents are of the same breed and their registration #'s.
They can be registered, but if white spot is larger than 1/2" square, it is a disqualification for confirmation.

Personally, dogs with this trait should be spayed/neutered.

It is permissible but is a not looked at as desireable.
A white patch of no more than like 1/2" on the chest is ok but not considered great in the show ring.
