I think this was one of the weirdest disasters to ever strike the U.S., and think that everyone (not just Americans) should see it.
One of the bodies was found over 600 miles away, swept there by the water, and another was not recovered until 1911, even though the flood occured in 1898! I see many parallels to today, (such as Katrina, for example) and can see many valuable spiritual and physical lessons to be learned from it for those of us living in 2007!
The people there had more than enough warning that the flood was coming, and chose to ignore those who sounded the alarm, just as the folks did in Noah's day about the worldwide flood, and the world does today. In fact, the ones who were concerned enough to give the alarm were even ridiculed, called cowards, mocked, and ultimately disregarded, just as the Lord's watchmen of today are by those who are in terrible (spiritual and physical) danger!

See my point?

I've been to the museum. You should go.

When I went they had this lifesize sculpture of this dude who was puting on new tar on his barn roof when the wall of water hit, destroying the barn, but carrying the roof like a raft. It's a true story. He and his daughter, who was with him, survived.

BTW, there were 2 more Johnstown floods. That was the first one. In the last one three storm fronts mysteriously formed and rolled in on Johnstown from separate directions. How about that for a weird disaster.

I've read the book, It was quite amazing,Steam locomotives picked up and thrown like toys, whole family's swept away
while lying in bed.The stench of it all lasted months..
All because of a neglected dam! I've not seen the DVD.
I've just gone through a flood this past June,I don't want to ever again!

Nothing to do with a supposed god. It was a fluke disaster.
