What happens to us after - why are we here?

Ah you're having one of those days LOL
Hate those. Think the most accurate answer is that we are here to procreate, multiply and keep the human race going. What anyone thinks happens after life is a personal thing. I reckon there is a heaven, I mean someone must have made earth, space, everything.

There is no true meaning to life, you were born into world created, survive by being as smart as you can be, find things you can take pleasure in and try to be happy,

Don't worry about what happens after you die, worry about how you will survive.

Why are we here, the true answer is because our parents had sex, on the spiritual it varies but finding a spot in life you can enjoy and challenges can be frustration and fun, we all have good and bad and some have it better and some have it worse, so be happy take life seriously and with a grain of salt. There's and old saying I lost a battle but I still fighting a war, because you will not win all your battle but you may win your war.

Life can be what ever you want it to be, that's why we asked for free will, we are here to learn, and better ourselves, and some of us do, what happens after, this life you mean? well we take the knowledge with us to a better place there is more to it than that, but just think of a place where the main thing is love

Love & Peace

Your question seems to allow no possibility that there is no 'meaning' in life. Have you considered what evidence there really is that such a 'meaning' exists?

For life - by which I assume you mean 'all human life' - to have a real 'meaning' there would have to be some process in place of which we're a part. But what process would that be? Considered from different viewpoints, human life is:

o An offshoot of a family of Primates whose most significant characteristic is hypertrophied cerebral hemispheres, which has enabled them to spread and colonise large parts of the surface. These animals are, however, less successful in many ways - even in their heyday - than other species like grass, bacteria, insects etc.

o Part of a series of complex electrochemical reactions taking place on the surface of warm matter. These reactions were preceded by nuclear force reactions, and will be followed by a longer period of gravity-dominated reactions.

o A brief phase in the expansion and cooling of the universe.

What could a future alien historian write about us in some Galactipedia? At our present level of development, it might be little more than: 'Bipedal, DNA-based primate. Arose 2-3 megayears BCE. Colonised their planet briefly, before wiping out all life on Earth in a religious war'

That's about all we deserve so far. But that's not the best we could hope for. I imagine most people would be much happier if our entry ended with something like '...used their primitive electronic technology to develop the first Ultra-Intelligent Machines, which later colonised and brought peace and prosperity to the Milky Way galaxy.'

It's part of our make-up that most people would prefer *something* like the second description to the first. We'd like to be the Good Guys, and we're prepared to do Good to get there. Unfortunately we're also often prepared to get to the top by climbing over the bodies of others. Our biggest problem at present is that there are way too many of us for one person to control, understand and/or look after - and yet our ape ancestry instinctively makes us elect one person to be our leader. No human can really do such a job well, so we get to choose which con-artist is best at convincing us that (s)he can.

In a sane world, of course, anyone who really believed he could make decisions for hundreds of millions of people would be put away with the people who think they're Napoleon. The people who really have the sense to do the best job of Supreme Ruler also have the sense to stay well away from it.

But - we still want to be the Good Guys, and that may be our saving grace eventually. Most of us want to follow the Golden Rule and be nice to others. It's part of what we are as a clever, social animal.

If some agency - and I don't believe that a human could do it - were able to utilise that resource to truly improve the world, then we'd really have a Purpose, and life would have a Meaning.

The meaning of life is that I am not dead yet and can still make a good contribution towards what I want life to mean. I am here because this is earth and it belongs to humans like me. And after here? I believe what the Bible said about life after, otherwise, your guess is as good as mine.

what happens to us after is a different question, so i will ignore that part.

the awnser.. isn't 42 (Deep thought got it wrong, and even admitted that she can't calculate the awnser to a question she doesnt know, hence why she commissioned earth).

the truth is... there is no awnser, or at least, no ONE awnser.

because the awnser to that question depends on how you value life itself, how you see and percept the universe around you.

someone who believes in christianity may consider life as a test, worming out the sinners and leaving the righteous hearted to enjoy Heaven,

someone else may say "life is short, have as much fun while your here as you can".

the question is different for each and every person in the universe, no two people are ever completley alike, and so no two awnsers will ever be alike.

for me at least, life is what i make it to be, i intend to enjoy my existence on this earth, whilst preserving it so that the future generations may have the same chance to enjoy it as i have done before them.

Wow,what a heavy question.
The last time you were brought a present, did you open it and think 'what is the meaning of this?'
No,it was a gift. You took it in good faith, opened it,and made use of it after thanking the one that gave it to you.
That's life.
All you need to know.
Love and peace,and God bless,

The meaning of life is to give life meaning. What happens to us after does not matter. We are here because we have nowhere else to be. Life is not as complicated as people think. Its best not to think about that kind of stuff.

Life – it has a meaning and loving purpose - you just have to find your purpose and live it.

I believe every person is here for a definite purpose. Each person is special and valuable; that refers to me, you, your family, friends, in fact everybody! There is a loving plan for each of our lives here on earth and there is no such thing as coincidence. I don't believe that anything in life happens by chance and that every aspect of our lives points to something deeper.

You need to decide now to live for God rather than for yourself. You spend your life on Earth preparing yourself (as best you can) for death. I don't see death as a scary, negative experience, but birth into a bliss filled eternal life with God. I believe that this is something you have to consciously choose or not during your life on earth.

The meaning of life is for us to discover that we are true children of an infinitely loving God, to find out what our responsibilities are to our Creator, and to fulfill those responsibilities. Each of us is called to affirm, accept and develop the talents God has given us. -
