When you can prove that people fly on brooms and cast spells with silly latin phrasing, then we'll start to look at the occult like it exists.

No! There is nothing at all religious in Harry Potter, it's a fantasy book. The only thing Harry Potter influences kids to do is read, not join the occult.

Harry Potter is a work of fiction, it exists as entertainment, not as any sort of religious document (i.e. occult).
For those who would call it so I'd point out that the chronicles of narnia contain many things (on both the "good" and "bad" sides of the narrative) that could be referred to as occult by the same argument used against harry potter, but it is considered one of the gems of christian literature.

Occult, like perambulate, is one of those words I use on an almost daily basis, without actually understanding it's full meaning. So I looked it up.
not revealed : secret
not easily apprehended or understood : abstruse, mysterious
hidden from view
After, what is it now, Six books in the series?
I think it's safe to say it's no secret. It may not be easily understood, and I'm sure there are those who would prefer it was hidden from view.

Oh gee. Lets see what section of the library it's in.
*walks down aisle, finds book*
OH WOW! It's in the fiction section! Gosh, maybe that means the book is...no, surely not...fiction!

Yes, think about it witches, warlocks, magic etc.
But if you do not take it in as a being cult and only see at as a story and don't practice it, then it is only a story.
There is literal and there is figurative.
If you want to take it literally then it will become real to you.

*lol* No, it's a work of fiction, and a wonderful way (if you're reading the books) for children to really expand their vocabulary.
And the movies aren't half bad either!

No. If it is, than so is the Wizard of Oz, and any other children's book with magic in it, which would be... most of them.
