Yes, there are. Stay clear of any sodas, for certain! No carbonated drinks at all. Drink water, cranberry juice, and keep drinking until the UTI is totally gone. Coffee is not a good choice, either. DO eat yogurt with live bacteria in it. This is such a painful thing to have, I do hope you feel better soon. Be sure that you do have medication for this. If you can, buy some pyridium to ease the pain. It just takes the pain out of that area, and makes you not feel you need to 'go' all the time. It is a life saver for me. Feel better!

Avoid foods/drinks with a high sugar (fructose syrup, mannitol, table sugar) content. Sugars are a good medium for growing bacteria. Continue this practice to help avoid future UTIs. Avoid alcohol and caffeine as these mildly irritate the bladder and can worsen your pain.

Salty, oily and spicy foods won't affect a UTI one way or the other. Pyridium is a prescription drug.

I don't know what to avoid but to keep it from happening again drink Cranberry juice often. This keeps everything flowing well. Use the 100% juice not the diet stuff.
