Registration paper (one from a legit registry...AKC, UKC (United Kennel Club) or CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) and not one of the scam registries), copy of at least 3-4 generation pedigree, copies of mom/dad's OFA/PennHip, CERF/PRA, Thyroid test results, copies or listing of all show (conformation) or performance (obedience, rally, hunt/field, CGC, etc) accomplishments, vaccine and exam info on pup, sample of food the puppy has been eating, spay/neuter contract (unless you are buying to show in conformation), sales contract with written health guarantee and take back clause in the event you can no longer keep the puppy/dog for ANY reason throughout it's life. Breeder contact info in case you have questions, need help or advice.

If the dog was advertised as "papered" you should have gotten a registration slip where you will fill out the puppys name and your name and some other information then that would need to be mailed into the kennel club.
If you did not get this registration slip you may not be aboe to register your pup.

if the puppy is akc you should get papers to register it as well. From the vet you should get a health guarantee, what kind of shots the puppy has had. I believe that is it.

Well, you need the papers specifying what shots he has had...Then, you would ask for the pedigree...And if his litter was AKC, CKC, etc. registered, you would need those papers as well so you can register the dog as an individual.

You should receive the AKC paperwork allowing you to register the dog to you at www.akc.org

If the Dog is Micro-chipped you should receive information on that so you can transfer the access to you. Also have you Vet Scan him or her so they have that on file as well.

You should have asked these questions before buying. If this is supposed to be a pure bred puppy there is a ton of information you should have asked for on the parents.
