My wife thinks of me as a mule, a source of financial stability, and the children are ungrateful. I have been working for thiry two years now and am just tired. It's never enough. I'd leave her with all the money, the cars, my custom bike and the house with everything in it. I just want to leave and never come back.
Is that illegal?

You're having what's been commonly refered to as a "mid life crisis."
I'm 53 myself, and understand what you're going through; your wife and you have become more room mates than lovers; the kids are rebelling (probably say they hate you;) and your job's a drag. Everything is just more of the same old same old.
Running away will free you - for a while; but what will it get you in the end? A lonely room with no one to come home to; meals from fast food joints; and no one to share your life with. Whoopie.
Instead of dwelling on the negative, try sitting back and taking into account everything you've got; a job: a home; a wife that loves you; even a cool motorcycle.
Hey, I've got no job, a beat up '87 pick up that's rusting out, and a grown son who wants nothing to do with me. Man, you've got it made, you just don't know it. Don't blow it now.

Uhhh, not illegal where I'm from. I was married for 12 years, and unhappy for 9 of them. I'm still young (35), and have finally moved on to a new life. The road has not been easy, and it's been only two and a half months since I left. I have a little boy, he's 8, and miss him dearly, for he is one of my best friends too. So as far as being illegal.... well you should consider seeing a lawyer about separation before you leave, just to understand any implications that may arise if you just up and leave. Good luck, and peace be with you.

It's not illegal it's call a divorce. If the kids are minors you will have to pay support. But legally you have a right to abandon your family as long as you pay child support.
