As an atheist, I think our confidence is misinterpreted as arrogance. I think the same logic holds true for Christians as well.

I don't know. I don't claim to have all the answers and I'm a Christian. Christianity is not about building ourselves up, rather it's accepting that we are nothing. Life is meaningless without Christ. And yes, it's true that without Christ you will go to hell, but we don't wish that on anyone. We don't celebrate other's suffering.
Christians are portrayed in a bad light generally, but they have done a lot of good in this world, apart from spreading the Gospel.
Christianity doesn't allow us to claim that we are more special than others, in fact the Bible instructs us to consider others better than ourselves. The Bible says that everyone is special, loved by God whether you love him back or not.
Atheists claim that they can do life without God, that they can fill the hole that should be His in their lives with other things. They are self-contained, and that leads to being selfish and arrogant. These are human qualities, that some Christians posess as well. Even those who strive for perfection will always come up short.

You are so right, no ones special or go to a paradise when we die we sit and rot in the ground just like everyone else no matter what religion. I hate it when people call us atheists arrogant because they are entirely wrong.

So the fact that we care about you, and we want you to got to paradise with us makes us arrogant?
I don't think I'm special, I think you are, because God created you for a purpose, whether you do his will or not, something you do will glorify him.
Such as asking a question on Yahoo and expecting to get hateful responses from Christians, and then some one actually says that they are not mad about the question, and that they will pray for you.

i'm afraid there are boastful people in all walks of society. Christians at the instant are not any exception. the version is those Christians will ultimately face conviction of their heart related to their conceitedness, and the two turn faraway from it or their hearts would be hardened and that they're going to fall away of their sin. it rather is the reason God forgives people who show regret. via the way, why do you desire to take up argument in case you do no longer desire to be a factor of it?

Not only that, but theists tend to believe that the entire universe exists for their sole benefit. Such arrogance! Such ego!
Atheists tend to have a more realistic view of our place and significance in the universe.

No. With all due respect, you seem not to understand what God's relationship to humans is. Is it arrogant for a child to believe his father is interested in his activities and his needs. Is it arrogant to accept a father's love and care? You're a child and your father happily provides you with everything you need to make a success in life. Would it not be more arrogant to go through life thinking you don't need him at all and forget everything he did for you? No wise adult forgets that his/her parents are still older and wiser, even as they themselves mature. In fact, it's a sign of maturity to come to realize that you still need them.

This is really more of a reply to sassinya - I don't think I can do it all by myself, and I truly don't know any atheist who does....though I'm sure there are some out there.
We don't ask for help from god because that would be silly for us to do so...no god exists.
But we do rely on our friends, our families, our communities, etc...
And guess what? It works.
