You can add some long layers and if the thickness bothers you have it thinned out with some thinning shears. If you wear your hair parted down the middle, try parting it at the side. You can also use a large barrelled curling iron to put nice curls in your hair for that trendy touselled look. If you really want something different, go to a hairstylist and just have her/him to give you a style. You can go to this site:

You can register, its free, upload a picture and give yourself a makeover. See what hairstyles, hair colors, eyeshadow, lipstick, even hats will look like on you! Its a lot of fun!
Good luck!

Hello darling! We are kindred hair sisters. I have thick brown hair too, and I've found that curling is just one big hassle that comes undone within an hour and ironing is just plain boring! However, with long hair you can get that luscious just rolled out of bed look that everyone tries to get. I say as your blow-drying your hair, us a curl spray (I think Garnier has one) and scrunch your hair up while going it over with the blowdryer. Then put some volume mouse in both hands, flip your head over and start working it into your scalp and rubbing it where you hair meets you scalp. Then toss your hair back in upright position, and you can style with hairspray, and even the thickest hair will look nice with the sex in bed look.

I know your pain!
My hair is halfway down my back and SOOOO thick... I really like to use RUSK products.
I use RUSK "Calm" shampoo and conditioner, and RUSK "wired" styling cream. Check out RUSK stuff online, its great for hard to style hair!!
Also, for an actual style, I got mine layered- it helps keep down the bulk of the hair, making it easier to style, and looks nice when I just blowdry it out. I have a great hair straightener that I use almost daily- "Cricket Straight Crazy" brand. Check it out, it rocks!
Good luck, I know what you mean with thick hair! ;)

You should try tight curls. They will hold really well since your hair is thick. Or go to your local hair salon and ask them what is best for you hair type/lenght.
