It's suppossed to come out in 8-10 washes, but so far has not! I don't know if it's because it's red or what but I'm sick of this color and want to dye it again to a medium brown but I don't want to dye over this and have a resulting reddish brown! HELP PLEASE!

Wash it several times with DAWN dish soap. Dawn will usually take out any color. If this was the first time you've done something with your hair, or if you are very young. You might still have baby hair and thats why it wont come out. My step daughters real mom dyed her hair RED at the age of 7. It was suppose to wash out in ONE MONTH... here it is 1 year later, and the red is still as red as it was the day she had it done. Red should generally fade VERY fast. But baby hairs cling to the color. Try the Dawn. If it doesnt work, Dye over it. Good luck

Actually reds fade faster than any other color, but when they say 8-10 washes it may not necessarily be exactly that many washes. Could be more, could be way less. Depends on your hair. Don't ever use dish liquid on your hair. It is highly alkaline and that is why it may take it out, but it will leave your hair in worse shape. Don't use baby shampoo either. The reason it says 'no more tears' is not because its gentler on the hair but because it has a higher alkalinity so as not to affect babies 'eyes' (I added this statement because I know it is something else I see suggested on here all the time). Go to a salon and let them color over it. They will know what to do to counteract the red. If you try and use an ash color over it yourself, it could work, but it may end up drab, too dark, or greenish, if you still want to try, go for it. Ash does eliminate red. But beware, if you mess it up even more, you may end up paying for corrective color which is really expensive. Good luck !

Any red colour, even if it is "temporary" as they claim, is really hard to get out. You will probably end up having to let it grow out or dye it brown but it will be reddish brown, as you said.

Get a color stripper...sold in the hair color section. then wait a couple of weeks for the oils to return to normal in your hair.
