No matter where I go, I am clearing my throat. It is very annoying and I get tired saying excuse me. Does anyone know why I have this tickle. Is there anything I could take to stop this? I've had it for many years.

Wow, it could be so many things!! Food allergies, environmental allergies, second-hand smoke - you name it! Try gargling with diluted apple cider vinegar - sounds weird, but it works!!!

I too have this same problem. It really is a problem when I speak, since the tickle seems to cause coughing. An ear-nose-throat specialist confirmed there actually was nothing wrong with the throat. His recommendation? See an immunologist. His opinion was that it was post nasal drip, which itself was caused by allergies. What allergies? Who knows, that's why a visit to an immunologist is in order.

Here's a suggestion from my GP - snort salt water up your nose. Sounds terrible, doesn't it? I tried it, and I can tell you it definitely clears the nasal passage. Do it for a couple of weeks. If the thought of doing that does not appeal, you can get salt water nasal sprays which are pretty cheap. Won't do any harm, and anything is worth a shot, hey?

I have that problem. It is the post nasal drip from your sinuses...you must have allergies. See your allergist for testing - you may need shots or allergy meds...
